About
Lindsey Armstrong is a Graphic Design Student at Watkins College of Art, Design & Film. Before attending Watkins, Lindsey worked as an intern and freelance designer for Strategic Marketing, Inc. in South Carolina. It was there she discovered a passion for design and decided to come to Nashville to continue to develop her skills. Lindsey will be graduating with her BFA in Graphic Design in December 2009.

Artist's Statement
The power of visual communication is fascinating to me. Every image, every color, every concept has a message. I take pleasure in creating the messages - putting a visage onto the words. As a designer, I aspire to make strong pieces of design that make an impression and provide the world with striking, intriguing imagery. My goal is simply to do my job – communicate through good design. When I’m creating a design, my decisions are based on my client and audience. I must establish whom I am working for and their goals. Are the decisions I am making appropriate for this particular client and their specific audience? Will the correct association be made if I use that image or this color? Whether it be color, imagery, typography, layout, or space, everything I do makes a difference. My audience’s understanding is vital to my designs. The piece must be attractive to them to capture their attention and appropriate enough to communicate what needs to be said.
